The Association Between Dyslipidemia and Androgenic Alopecia: A Cross-Sectional Study From the Persian Guilan Cohort Study

    This study, involving 10,520 adults from the PERSIAN Guilan Cohort Study, investigated the link between androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and dyslipidemia. While AGA was more prevalent in males (65.8%) than females (41.2%), dyslipidemia was more common in females. Overall, no significant association was found between AGA and dyslipidemia. However, in females, dyslipidemia was linked to higher odds of AGA, particularly with low HDL levels being a strong predictor. No significant associations were found in males, highlighting the importance of considering gender differences in clinical evaluations.
