Case of Early Pubertal Development in a 3-Year-Old Girl: Considering Rare Peripheral Causes

    HOUDA BOUAICHI, SAMIA BENTALEB
TLDR A rare ovarian tumor caused early puberty in a 3-year-old girl.
A 3-year-old girl presented with premature breast development and pubic hair growth, leading to the discovery of an abdominal mass. Investigations confirmed a diagnosis of Sertoli-Leydig cell tumor (SLCT), a rare ovarian tumor causing precocious pseudopuberty. While idiopathic causes are more common in precocious puberty, ovarian tumors like SLCT should be considered. Early diagnosis is critical for effective management, with well-differentiated SLCTs having an excellent prognosis if identified early, though advanced cases may need further treatment.
