The study investigates the antidiabetic potential of Eclipta alba leaf flavonoids through in-silico molecular docking, targeting the protein Aldose reductase. The flavonoids, specifically apigenin, syringic acid, and vanillic acid, demonstrated effective binding and inhibitory action on Aldose reductase, with binding energies of -8.96, -6.02, and -5.86 kcal/mol, respectively. These findings suggest that Eclipta alba flavonoids could be promising candidates for diabetes treatment due to their ability to chemically interact with amino acids in the active pockets of the target protein.
