Comparative Characteristics of the Effectiveness of Drugs for the Treatment of Alopecia Areata in Childhood

The study compares the effectiveness of different treatments for alopecia areata in children, involving 420 patients. It evaluates topical glucocorticosteroids (GCS) like Clobetasol and Betamethasone, Tofacitinib, and Dupilumab. Results indicate that Betamethasone is more effective than Clobetasol. Tofacitinib shows higher efficacy in patients with concurrent atopic dermatitis. Dupilumab is suggested as a potential treatment for total and universal forms of alopecia areata. The study concludes that further randomized controlled trials are needed to assess the long-term effectiveness of Tofacitinib and Dupilumab.
