Potential Effects of Plumbago Europaea Root Extract on Alopecia: An Experimental Rat Study

    The study investigated the effects of Plumbago europaea root extract on alopecia using three Sprague-Dawley rats with induced hair loss. Results showed that a 100% concentration of the extract significantly enhanced hair growth by increasing the number of hair follicles, hair shaft diameter, and hair length. The extract's efficacy is attributed to bioactive substances like saponins and phenolics, which promote follicle growth and reduce hair loss. This suggests that P. europaea root extract could be a promising treatment for alopecia.
