TLDR Combining concentrated growth factor with intense pulsed light is more effective and safer for sensitive skin than using intense pulsed light alone.
This retrospective cohort study evaluated the efficacy and safety of combining concentrated growth factor (CGF) with intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy for treating facial sensitive skin, involving 219 patients. The study found that the CGF plus IPL group (n = 91) showed significantly greater improvements in wrinkle reduction, skin barrier function, skin elasticity, and overall skin appearance compared to the IPL-only group (n = 128). Additionally, the combination therapy resulted in higher levels of growth factors, lower inflammatory cytokines, and fewer adverse reactions such as burning and stinging. Quality of life, as measured by the Dermatology Life Quality Index, improved more in the combination group. Overall, CGF combined with IPL was concluded to be a highly effective and safe treatment for sensitive skin, offering superior benefits over IPL alone.
