TLDR Microneedling helps hair growth, with hair multivitamins showing slightly better results than minoxidil.
The study compared the efficacy of microneedling with minoxidil solution versus microneedling with a hair multivitamin solution in treating androgenetic alopecia in 20 male patients. Group I received microneedling with minoxidil, while Group II received microneedling with a hair multivitamin solution. Results showed that 75% of patients in the minoxidil group had an excellent response compared to 90% in the hair multivitamin group. However, patient satisfaction was higher in the minoxidil group. Common side effects included pain (20%), bruising (15%), and folliculitis (5%). The study concluded that microneedling is a safe and cost-effective procedure for promoting hair growth, though larger studies are needed to confirm these findings.
