TLDR Ayurvedic treatment may improve quality of life for cancer patients undergoing chemo and radiotherapy.
The study evaluates the efficacy of Panchagavya Ghrita, an Ayurvedic treatment, in managing side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy in cancer patients. Conducted as a randomized, single-blind, three-arm interventional study with 36 participants, it compares oral and enema administration of Panchagavya Ghrita with Amalakyadi Kashaya against standard care. The primary goal is to improve patients' quality of life, assessed using the EORTC QLQ-C30 tool. Results suggest that the Ayurvedic protocol may enhance therapeutic outcomes and patient compliance, offering a safe, cost-effective strategy for managing treatment side effects. The study encourages further research to integrate Ayurvedic and conventional medicine for better cancer care.
