A study involving 60 women with diffuse telogen effluvium compared the efficacy of photodynamic therapy, PRP therapy, and their combination. Results showed that combination therapy led to the most significant improvements, with a 16.8% reduction in telogen hair, increased hair density by 35.7 hairs/cm², and improved hair shaft diameter by 11.4 μm. Quality of life also improved the most in the combination group, with a Dermatological Quality of Life Index decrease of 10 points. The study concludes that combining photodynamic and PRP therapies offers superior benefits due to a synergistic effect, suggesting its adoption in clinical practice.
