TLDR The Shumin device with doxycycline is more effective for rosacea than red light therapy.
This study compared the efficacy and safety of two rosacea treatments: oral doxycycline combined with the Shumin treatment instrument versus oral doxycycline combined with red light therapy. Involving 60 patients, the study found that the experimental group using the Shumin device had a higher efficacy rate (93.3%) compared to the control group with red light therapy (80.0%). Both groups showed significant improvements in Dermatology Life Quality Index scores and Demodex counts, but the Shumin group had superior improvements in quality of life scores and affected hair follicle counts. The relapse rate was also lower in the Shumin group. These findings suggest that the Shumin device, when used with doxycycline, offers better clinical outcomes for rosacea than red light therapy, supporting its use as an adjunctive treatment.
