Efficacy of Stromal Vascular Fraction Versus Topical Minoxidil in Treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia: A Simple Randomized Study

January 2025 in “ Journal of Carcinogenesis
TLDR Stromal vascular fraction and topical minoxidil both improve hair growth similarly, but SVF offers a better treatment experience.
This study compared the efficacy of stromal vascular fraction (SVF) and topical minoxidil in treating androgenetic alopecia in 70 Egyptian participants aged 18 to 45. Both treatments showed significant improvements in hair shaft density, diameter, and the terminal to vellus (T/V) hair ratio over 6 months, with no significant differences between the two groups in these hair characteristics. However, SVF provided a more satisfactory treatment experience. The study found that individual responses to treatments may vary, and gender did not significantly influence outcomes.
