TLDR Wheat polar lipid complex reduces hair loss and improves hair growth in women.
This study assessed the efficacy of a wheat polar lipid complex (WPLC) in reducing hair loss and promoting hair growth in 66 healthy women over 84 days through a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial. Results indicated that WPLC significantly reduced hair loss, with a 47.9% decrease in hair loss measured by pull tests, and improved hair characteristics such as diameter (+4.4%) and elongation (+2.8%). Additionally, WPLC increased anagen hair density and proportion, and decreased telogen hair proportion by 27%. Participants also reported improved hair quality and reduced scalp sebum content. No adverse effects were noted, suggesting WPLC as a promising natural treatment for hair loss and quality improvement.
