Development and Application of Emotion Recognition Technology: A Systematic Literature Review

    The systematic literature review examines the development and application of emotion recognition technology in healthcare, highlighting its potential to improve patient outcomes by integrating emotional data with mobile and sensor technologies. Analyzing 44 articles, the review emphasizes the use of scales, speech analysis, facial features, physiological signals, and multimodal techniques for emotion recognition, particularly benefiting individuals with mental and neurological conditions, cancer, and genetic alopecia. Multimodal approaches showed high accuracy, suggesting their effectiveness in clinical practice. The review also addresses challenges such as privacy concerns and data access, advocating for advancements in wearable devices and IoT to enhance the technology's application in psychosomatic medicine.
