TLDR Finasteride's solubility improves with native y-CDs, enhancing hair loss treatment and reducing side effects.
The study explores the use of cyclodextrins (CDs) to increase the solubility of finasteride, a drug used to treat hair loss. The most effective CD was found to be native y-CDs, which formed stable complexes with finasteride. The study concludes that this method of obtaining FIN-y-CDs complexes in aqueous solution could be used for topical application in the treatment of androgenic alopecia, improving its therapeutic possibilities while avoiding side effects.
