Epidermal And Dermal Regeneration Through Sequential Monopolar And Bipolar Radiofrequency: Evidence From An Aging Mouse Model

    Narendra Kumar, Song Yi Baek
TLDR Sequential monopolar-bipolar radiofrequency improves skin regeneration and quality better than monopolar alone.
The study investigates the effects of monopolar versus sequential monopolar-bipolar radiofrequency (RF) irradiation on skin quality in an aged mouse model. Results indicate that the sequential monopolar-bipolar RF significantly enhances epidermal thickness, collagen density, and elastin fiber production compared to monopolar RF alone. Additionally, gene markers associated with fibroblast differentiation, such as Blimp1, Fsp1, and Dlk1, showed significant increases, suggesting that RF irradiation promotes fibroblast differentiation. The findings support the efficacy of the monopolar-bipolar RF system in improving skin regeneration and quality.
