The study focused on evaluating the ethanopharmacological properties of Cyperus rotundus, a herb traditionally used by tribal communities in India for treating various diseases. The research aimed to verify the therapeutic effects and safety of these traditional medicines, which have been integral to human life for thousands of years. Despite the long history of medicinal plant use, scientific validation had only recently begun. The study highlighted the importance of such research in ensuring sustainable drug availability from natural sources, given the global reliance on plant-based traditional medicine, especially in developing countries where 80% of the population depends on it for primary health care.
