Evaluating the effectiveness of laser hair reduction using a home use laser in comparison to a Diode laser

This study compared the effectiveness of a professional Diode laser to the Silk'n™ Flash and Go Lux home-use laser for permanent hair reduction in 15 females. Participants received six treatments on their axillae, with results showing the professional laser achieved an 85-88% hair reduction, while the home-use laser achieved a 46.3-52% reduction. Both devices had mild side effects, with no serious adverse effects reported. The home-use laser is effective but slower than the professional laser and offers safety features for accidental exposure and use on darker skin. However, there are concerns about potential retinal damage from long-term exposure to the home-use laser.
