TLDR Nanofat injections before hair transplantation improve eyebrow restoration in burn scars.
This study on 17 patients with deep facial burn scars found that using nanofat injections before follicular unit extraction (FUE) hair transplantation significantly improved eyebrow restoration outcomes. The two-stage procedure, involving nanofat injection followed by FUE after 3 months, enhanced scarred tissue quality, resulting in better eyebrow density and high patient satisfaction with minimal complications. Although transplanted eyebrow density was lower than normal, patients with over 70 terminal hairs per cm² were generally satisfied, and hair thickness matched normal eyebrows. Despite some needing additional sessions, the study supports the procedure's effectiveness for postburn eyebrow restoration, noting limitations like the lack of a control group.
