TLDR Idebenone-loaded nanoparticles improve wound healing and antioxidant effectiveness.
The study developed idebenone-loaded nanoparticles (IB@NPs) using a solvent-free method to enhance idebenone's antioxidant properties and wound healing efficiency. The IB@NPs showed high loading efficiency, long-term stability, and improved antioxidant activity compared to unloaded idebenone. They were biocompatible, reduced oxidative damage, and decreased intracellular ROS generation in mouse NIH-3T3 fibroblasts. The nanoparticles significantly promoted wound healing in vitro, suggesting potential applications in treating oxidative-stress-related diseases. The study concluded that IB@NPs could improve idebenone's bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy in wound healing applications.
