This retrospective study of 289 patients with female pattern hair loss (FPHL) identified that the severity of FPHL is associated with the duration of the condition, with more severe cases (F2/3) being significantly older and having a longer duration than less severe cases (F1). Although lower levels of selenium, zinc, vitamin B9, and testosterone were noted in the more severe group, these were not independent risk factors after adjusting for demographic characteristics. The study concludes that elements, vitamins, and hormones do not predict FPHL severity, suggesting the need for larger prospective cohort studies to confirm these findings.
