The Influence of Different Feed Compositions on Hair Characteristics and Health Parameters in Guinea Pigs

    Gerda Paulauskė
This study evaluated the impact of different diets on the behavior, hair structure, and health parameters of 12 guinea pigs. The guinea pigs were divided into two groups, each fed a different diet (A or B). The study found that changes in green protein content in the diets had a negligible effect on hair structure, with no statistically significant differences observed. Minor differences were noted in blood cholesterol levels, but triglyceride levels and the CH index remained within normal ranges. Glucose concentration and urine indicators were typical for healthy animals. The results suggest that the nutrient diversity in both diets met the guinea pigs' needs and ensured their well-being, with no significant impact from the dietary differences.
