TLDR The herbal anti-dandruff shampoo is effective, safe, and a good alternative to synthetic shampoos.
The study formulated and evaluated a polyherbal anti-dandruff shampoo using eleven plant extracts, including Amla, Shikakai, and Neem oil, aiming to provide a safer alternative to synthetic shampoos. The shampoo demonstrated optimal physicochemical properties, such as a pH of 6.2, viscosity of 950 cP, and effective cleansing with a surface tension of 35 dyn/cm. It showed satisfactory foam stability and cleaning action efficiency of 78% for greasy soil removal. The formulation remained stable over a 4-week period without phase separation or discoloration. The study concluded that the herbal-based shampoo is a safe, stable, and effective alternative to synthetic formulations, offering antifungal, antibacterial, and conditioning benefits without adverse effects.
