TLDR Low-level laser therapy reduces orthodontic relapse in rats, but fulvic acids do not.
The study investigated the effects of fulvic acids (FAs) and low-level laser therapy (LLLT) on orthodontic retention in rats. It found that FAs did not significantly reduce relapse rates when used with retainers, whereas LLLT effectively reduced relapse rates. Combining FAs with LLLT did not provide any additional benefit. Both treatments increased BMP-2 expression in periodontal ligament (PDL) fibroblasts, but there was no synergistic effect observed.
