    The chapter examines coffee's evolution from a ritualistic drink to a global cultural and pharmacological phenomenon, tracing its history from Yemen and Ethiopia to worldwide prominence. It discusses the differences between Arabica and Robusta beans, their cultivation, and market share, as well as the chemistry of coffee, particularly caffeine's stimulant and therapeutic properties. The chapter concludes that moderate coffee consumption (2-4 cups daily) poses no direct health risks and highlights coffee's innovative uses beyond a beverage, such as in astronaut nutrition, textiles, and cosmetics. Coffee derivatives show promise in reducing wrinkles and treating male androgenic alopecia. Additionally, coffee offers prebiotic benefits and supports gut and neurological health, with emerging coffee-based beverages gaining popularity for their health benefits and innovative flavors.
