TLDR Higher ꝩ-GCS enzyme levels in PCOS patients may play a role in the disease.
This study investigated the role of glutathione-related enzymes in patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) by comparing 40 PCOS patients with 40 healthy controls. The research focused on the levels of gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) and gamma-glutamyl cysteine synthetase (ꝩ-GCS) using the ELISA technique. While no significant difference in GGT levels was found between the two groups, ꝩ-GCS levels were significantly higher in the PCOS group (P<0.05). This suggests that glutathione metabolism, particularly the activity of ꝩ-GCS, plays a crucial role in the progression of PCOS, potentially due to its involvement in glutathione catalysis. The findings highlight the importance of glutathione in influencing the mechanisms of PCOS, a condition that significantly impacts women's health.

The protocol includes minoxidil, finasteride, tacrolimus, cetirizine, bimatoprost, lithium gluconate, losartan, melatonin, NAC, caffeine, and tretinoin, with a monthly cost of $35-50 in Mexico and $80-150 in the US.
