Green Tea as a Supportive Therapy for PCOS: Evaluating Its Impact on Symptom Relief

    Magdalena Jabłonowska, Paulina Grzeszczuk
TLDR Green tea may help relieve PCOS symptoms, but more research is needed.
This review explores the potential of green tea, particularly its catechin EGCG, as a supportive therapy for polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Green tea may alleviate PCOS symptoms by improving insulin sensitivity, reducing androgen levels, aiding weight management, and enhancing fertility due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and insulin-sensitizing effects. Although preliminary studies are promising, further high-quality clinical research is necessary to confirm its efficacy and safety as a complementary treatment for PCOS.
