Induction of Hair Follicle Regeneration in Rat Ear by Dermal Papilla Cell Microcapsules

TLDR Microencapsulated cells can regenerate hair follicles in rat ears.
The study aimed to induce hair follicle regeneration in rat ears using microencapsulated dermal papilla cells (DPs). The DPs were encapsulated with alginate-polylysine-alginate and transplanted into rat ears. Histological examination revealed that fully developed hair follicles were present at the implantation site, differing from normal rat ear follicles in configuration, number, size, and differentiation degree. The study concluded that microencapsulated DPs retained their physiological function to induce follicle regeneration.
