TLDR CMX from Centipeda minima can significantly improve hair growth in mild to moderate balding.
The study assessed the hair regrowth effects of CMX, an emulsion extract containing brevilin A from Centipeda minima, a JAK3 inhibitor, in a clinical trial with 72 patients experiencing mild to moderate hair loss. Over 24 weeks, the CMX-treated group showed significant improvements in total, terminal, and anagen hair counts compared to the placebo group, with statistical significance (p < 0.001). The effectiveness of CMX was linked to its modulation of the JAK-STAT signaling pathway and related pathways, suggesting its potential as a promising treatment for hair loss with fewer side effects than traditional drugs.
