Hair Growth Activity of Formulated Ointment Based on Hydroalcoholic Extract of Globularia Alypum L: In Vivo Study

    TLDR The ointment with Globularia alypum L. extract significantly increased hair growth without toxicity.
    The study investigated the hair growth effects of an ointment formulated with hydroalcoholic extract of Globularia alypum L. on female albino rats. The extract, rich in polyphenols and flavonoids, was applied to the rats' skin for 20 days. Results showed a significant increase in hair length in the treated group (18.02 ± 1.719 mm) compared to the control group (11.8 ± 1.239 mm), with no observed toxicity at doses up to 5000 mg/kg. Histological analysis revealed longer and denser hair follicles in the treated group, suggesting the potential of Globularia alypum L. for promoting hair growth.
