TLDR Nilotinib may cause gray hair to return to its original color.
A 62-year-old male with chronic myeloid leukemia experienced hair re-pigmentation from gray to its original color after 6 months of treatment with nilotinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. This phenomenon is rare and has been documented in a limited number of cases, with the exact mechanism remaining unknown. Previous studies have noted similar effects with other drugs, but the occurrence is uncommon and often underreported. The case highlights the potential for nilotinib to induce hair re-pigmentation, although more data is needed to understand this effect fully.
