TLDR Nanotechnology in shampoos could improve scalp health but needs more safety research.
This review discusses the prevalence of dandruff and scalp disorders, highlighting the limitations of conventional shampoos and the potential of advanced formulations using nanotechnology. It examines the role of nanoparticles, such as silver, gold, and zinc oxide, in enhancing shampoo efficacy through improved antimicrobial activity and scalp penetration. While nanoparticle-based shampoos show promise in treating scalp conditions and improving cosmetic performance, concerns about toxicity and environmental impact require further research. Overall, these innovations represent a promising direction for developing safer and more effective hair care products.
