TLDR The hole technique is faster and effective for hair transplant site creation.
This study compared the hole and slit techniques for recipient site creation in hair transplantation among 8 male patients with androgenetic alopecia. The hole technique was found to be faster, with a mean creation time of 95.5 seconds compared to 121 seconds for the slit technique, due to better visibility. Graft survival rates were similar for both techniques, with 94% for the hole and 92% for the slit, and no significant differences in complications were noted. The study concluded that the hole technique is a rapid and effective method, particularly advantageous in hairy areas due to its high visibility.
