TLDR Direct hair implantation with special pens improves hair transplant precision and effectiveness.
The document reviewed the evolution of hair transplantation techniques, focusing on surgical methods like Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Direct Hair Implantation (DHI). A 2014 study with 207 patients found that DHI achieved a higher density of 75 units/cm² compared to 50 units/cm² for FUE. The study concluded that hair transplantation provided a permanent solution for hair loss, with the choice of technique depending on desired density and patient preference. It also discussed advancements in creating human hair follicles from cultured cells and the potential of induced pluripotent stem cells for hair regeneration, suggesting future treatments could involve cell-based applications without surgery. The combination of surgical methods with new technologies was believed to offer the best outcomes for restoring natural-looking hair.
