The Heart And Brain Investigation in Taicang (HABIT) study is a large-scale cohort study involving 10,357 Chinese adults aged 30-75, initiated in 2019-20, to explore the risk factors for cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. The study collects extensive baseline data on lifestyle, psychological, and physiological factors, aiming to identify new risk factors and early biomarkers. It has already recorded 58 coronary heart disease and stroke events, with follow-ups planned every 5 and 10 years. The ongoing study seeks to enhance prevention and management strategies for these conditions and is open to collaborative research efforts.
