This study investigated the toxicity of carbon-based nanoparticles (CBNPs) in mice, administered orally over 30 days at doses of 5mg/kg, 10mg/kg, and 20mg/kg. The mice exhibited symptoms such as hyperactivity, social withdrawal, alopecia, and changes in eye pigmentation. Biochemical analysis showed decreased ALP and catalase levels, and increased ALT, AST, glutathione, urea, creatinine, and bilirubin levels, indicating liver and kidney impairment. Histological examination revealed inflammation, necrotic foci, and binucleated cells in kidney and liver tissues. The study concluded that CBNPs can disrupt physiological processes due to their aggregation, slow clearance, and excessive reactive oxygen species formation, potentially leading to severe health issues.
