TLDR The herbal antidandruff shampoo effectively fights dandruff and improves scalp health.
The study focuses on formulating an herbal-based antidandruff shampoo using traditional herbs like neem, fenugreek seed, aloe vera, and clove, known for their therapeutic and antimicrobial properties. The bioactive components were extracted and confirmed through phytochemical screenings and FTIR analysis. Two shampoo formulations were developed and characterized for physical and chemical properties, including pH, foaming agents, and stability. The shampoo's antibacterial and antifungal activities were tested against Staphylococcus species and Malassezia furfur, respectively, using the agar well diffusion method. The results indicate that the herbal shampoo is a promising natural alternative for addressing dandruff, offering stability, quality, and potential therapeutic benefits for scalp health.
