TLDR The herbal extract CS-10-H significantly promotes hair growth in mice.
The study investigated the effects of a mixed medicinal herbal extract (CS-10-H) on hair growth in C57BL/6 mice with alopecia. Male mice were treated with CS-10-H, 5% minoxidil, or a vehicle solution for 3 weeks. Both CS-10-H and minoxidil significantly stimulated hair growth compared to the vehicle, with hair density increasing by approximately 206% and 208%, and hair thickness by 220% and 200%, respectively, by day 14. Additionally, protein expression levels of hair growth factors IGF-1 and VEGF were significantly higher in the CS-10-H and minoxidil groups. The results suggested that CS-10-H could be a promising ingredient for hair growth products.
