The study aimed to evaluate the hair coloring properties of various herbal formulations using dried aqueous extracts and powders from plants like Gudhal, Jatamansi, Kuth, Kattha, Amla, Coffee, and Henna. Fourteen formulations were initially tested on sheep wool fibers, and six were selected for human trials. Among these, formulation HD-3, which included all the mentioned herbs, showed the most significant coloring effect and was the most accepted by volunteers. The study concluded that the combination of these herbs, particularly Jatamansi, acted synergistically to enhance hair coloring, providing maximum blackening effects.
