Formulation And Evaluation Of Herbal Shampoo

The study focused on formulating and evaluating a herbal shampoo using plant-derived ingredients like Reetha, Shikakai, Aloe vera, Neem, Hibiscus, Amla, and Yashtimadhu, known for their cleansing, antimicrobial, conditioning, and hair-growth-promoting properties. The herbal extracts were prepared through aqueous extraction, and the final formulation included Aloe vera gel, glycerin, vitamin E, citric acid, and sodium benzoate. The shampoo was assessed for physicochemical parameters, showing acceptable cosmetic qualities, good cleansing ability, stable foam, and a scalp-friendly pH. The study concluded that herbal shampoo is a safe, effective, and environmentally friendly alternative to synthetic hair care products.
