TLDR The herbal shampoo with neem, onion, and flaxseed oils effectively promotes hair health and is a stable, eco-friendly alternative to synthetic products.
This study explores the formulation and evaluation of an herbal shampoo containing microencapsulated neem, onion, and flaxseed oils, aimed at promoting hair health and addressing issues like hair fall, dandruff, and scalp infections. Onion extract, rich in sulfur and antioxidants, enhances hair growth and scalp circulation, neem oil offers antibacterial and antifungal properties, and flaxseed oil provides omega-3 fatty acids for hair nourishment. The oils were microencapsulated with polyvinyl alcohol to improve stability, and 1% of this encapsulated oil was added to the shampoo. The shampoo met standard quality criteria for physicochemical parameters and demonstrated effective anti-hair fall, antifungal, and conditioning properties, presenting a natural and eco-friendly alternative to synthetic hair care products.
