Designing a High-Efficiency Cap to Protect Hair from Weather Pollutants

    The study focused on designing a high-efficiency cap to protect hair from weather pollutants, particularly for workers in construction and related industries in Egypt and Arab countries. Various fabrics were woven and tested for permeability and porosity to assess their ability to protect hair from dust and sun exposure. The best-performing fabrics were coated with polyacrylate polymer to enhance sun protection, measured by the Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) using a spectrophotometer. A cap was designed using advanced Gerber software, and results indicated that selecting appropriate fabrics for caps can prevent hair damage.
