TLDR People with kidney problems have higher hair EtG levels.
The study compared hair ethyl glucuronide (EtG) levels in 19 patients with decreased kidney function to 21 healthy individuals. It found that patients with renal disease had significantly higher hair EtG levels, which could be due to delayed excretion and increased incorporation into hair. These findings suggested that hair EtG levels in patients with decreased kidney function should be interpreted cautiously, especially when assessing their suitability for holding a driving license.
