The study examined the effects of Hyaluronic Acid Profhilo® on skin inflammation and spinal neuroimmune alterations in a mouse model of atopic dermatitis using 28 adult female ICR-CD1 mice. The results showed that Profhilo® significantly reduced skin inflammation, as indicated by lower SCORAD scores, decreased mast cell density, and increased dermal thickness. It also alleviated neurogenic pain by reducing CGRP immunoreactivity and microglial activation in the spinal cord. These findings suggest that Profhilo® not only improves local skin conditions but also modulates central neuroimmune responses, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic option for inflammatory skin diseases like atopic dermatitis.
