TLDR Conditioners with jojoba and coconut oils improve hair feel and reduce damage perception.
This study assessed the impact of conditioners containing jojoba and coconut oils on Caucasian hair fibers that underwent bleaching and dyeing. Using 27 hair strands, it was found that these chemical treatments increased combing resistance and friction but did not significantly affect tensile strength. In vivo sensory analysis with 42 volunteers showed a preference for conditioners with natural oils, which improved combability and hydrophobicity. Coconut oil was particularly effective in reducing friction, while jojoba oil enhanced shine. The study concluded that conditioners with these oils can enhance hair's sensory properties and reduce the perception of damage from chemical treatments.
