TLDR Severe acne patients have higher inflammatory markers than healthy people.
This study retrospectively compared systemic inflammatory indices and hematologic parameters between 395 patients with severe acne vulgaris (AV) and 395 healthy controls. The analysis revealed that the mean age of the AV group was significantly lower, and there was a lower proportion of females compared to the control group. Various inflammatory markers, including neutrophil, lymphocyte, monocyte, and platelet counts, as well as indices like the Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII) and Systemic Inflammation Response Index (SIRI), were recorded and analyzed to assess differences between the two groups.
