TLDR Clove, cinnamon, and coriander extracts may help reduce blood vessel growth.
The study investigates the anti-angiogenic properties of clove, cinnamon, and coriander extracts using a Chorioallantoic Membrane (CAM) assay on fertilized chicken eggs. The phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of compounds like flavonoids and phenols, which showed positive anti-angiogenic effects. After treating the eggs with 100µl of ethanol and PBS extracts for 72 hours, a significant decrease in vascular formation was observed. These findings suggest that these herbal extracts could serve as potential therapeutics for angiogenesis-related diseases, offering a safer alternative to synthetic drugs that often cause adverse effects such as hair loss.
