    TLDR PRP injections are safe and effective for alopecia areata, but steroids are still the preferred treatment.
    Intralesional Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injection appears to be an effective and safe treatment for patients with limited patchy alopecia areata. However, the study indicates that PRP's superiority over intralesional steroids (ILS) has not been conclusively proven. As a result, ILS remains the first-line treatment for this condition.
