A study involving 50 patients with androgenetic alopecia compared the efficacy of 5% topical minoxidil alone (Group A) versus a combination of minoxidil, microneedling, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) (Group B). Results showed that Group B had significantly better outcomes after 6 months, with improvements assessed through patient self-evaluation, photographs, and Hamilton–Norwood grading. Mild adverse effects were reported, including pruritus, seborrheic dermatitis, and headache. The study concludes that the combination treatment is more effective than minoxidil alone, suggesting PRP as a safe and effective adjunct, though further research with standardized protocols is needed.
