TLDR Alopecia areata patients need better education to improve their disease management.
This study on 514 alopecia areata patients revealed that while they have poor knowledge about their condition, they maintain moderate attitudes and engage in proactive practices for disease management. Factors such as positive attitude, lower anxiety, specific income levels, and shorter disease duration were linked to more proactive practices. The findings highlight the need for targeted educational interventions to enhance patient knowledge and self-management, potentially improving disease outcomes and reducing the psychosocial burden.
