Knowledge Gaps and Health Practices Related to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Among Women in Southwestern Saudi Arabia: A Cross-Sectional Study

This study surveyed 528 women in the Asir region of Saudi Arabia to assess their knowledge and health practices related to polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It found that 45.1% of participants had poor knowledge of PCOS, with low awareness of its cardiometabolic complications. Older age and lower educational attainment were significant predictors of inadequate knowledge. The study concluded that there are substantial gaps in PCOS knowledge and suboptimal health practices among these women, emphasizing the need for targeted educational interventions to improve awareness and promote healthier practices.
